Southekayi Gojju | Healthy, tasty and quick recipe | ಹಸಿ ಕಾಯಿ ಸಾಸಿವೆ ಸೌತೆಕಾಯಿ ಗೊಜ್ಜು | Raw Cucumber Curry | Gojju recipe

Ingredients:

⚜ Cucumber (chopped) - 2 cups

⚜ Coconut (freshly grated) - 3/4 cup

⚜ Fried Gram - 1 tbsp

⚜ Green Chillies - 5

⚜ Coriander Leaves - few

⚜ Tamarind - 1.5 inches

⚜ Jaggery (crushed) - 1 tbsp

⚜ Mustard seeds - 1 tsp

⚜ Asafoetida / Hing - 2 pinch

⚜ Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp

⚜ Curry leaves - few

⚜ Salt - as per taste

⚜ Water - 1 cup

⚜  Oil - 2 tsp

Preparation:

  1. For Grinding - Add Coconut (grated),  Fried gram, Green chillies, Coriander leaves, Tamarind, Jaggery, 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds, Turmeric powder and Water to a mixer jar. Grind into smooth mixture.
  2. Add chopped Cucumber into a mixing bowl and pour the ground mixture. Mix well.
  3. For tempering - Heat Oil in a kadai and add 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds. 
  4. Once the mustard seeds splutters, add Curry leaves and Hing. Mix well.
  5. Add the tempering to the Gojju along with Salt. Mix well together.
  6. Enjoy Southekayi Gojju with Akki (rice flour) or Ragi (finger millet) Rotti / Chapathi.
