Baked Nippattu (Iyengar bakery style)

Baked nippattu

  • Prep Time: 10 Mins
  • Bake Time: 20 - 22 Mins
  • Yield: 12 Pieces

Ingredients:

  • Maida flour - 1 cup
  • Chiroti rava- 1/2 cup
  • Salt - 3/4 tsp or  as per taste
  • Powdered Sugar - 1 tsp
  • Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilli flakes - 3 tsp
  • Chopped Onion - 1
  • Chopped Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  • Chopped Curry leaves - 1 tbsp
  • Ghee - 3 tsp
  • Milk - 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp

Preparation:

  1. Mix all the above ingredients and make a soft dough. Add milk in small quantities while mixing and check the consistency. 
  2. Make balls from the dough and flatten it by hand to get circular shaped thin pieces. Arrange the pieces on a greased baking tray.
  3. Take a fork and prick the Nippattu few times to prevent them from puffing.
  4. Set the oven to convection mode, bake at 180°C for 20 - 22 minutes.
Enjoy Crunchy Nippattu with tea/coffee.
