Ingredients:
- Chiroti rava / Upma rava - 1 cup
- Ghee - 1/2 cup
- Pineapple (chopped) - 1 cup
- Jaggery (crushed / powder) - 1 cup
- Water - 3 cups
- Cardamom / elaichi powder - 1/2 tsp
- Kesari / Saffron / kesar - 1 pinch
- Cashew (split) - 10
- Raisins - 10 to 15
Preparation:
- Add 1 tbsp of ghee to a kadai, along with broken cashews and raisins. Roast them till golden brown and take out from kadai. Keep aside.
- Add rava to the same kadai. Roast it in low flame for 5 minutes until turns light brown colour. Transfer rava to a plate.
- Add 1 tsp of ghee to the kadai and now add chopped pineapple pieces. Roast it for 2-3 minutes.
- Add water, crushed jaggery and a pinch of saffron to it. Mix well, jaggery melts. Boil in medium flame till the pineapple becomes soft.
- Now add roasted rava and stir continuously to avoid lumps. Cook till the rava absorbs water and well cooked.
- Add 1/2 cup of ghee and mix well. Cook for 3 - 5 minutes in low flame until the kesaribath has a silky smooth texture and does not stick to the kadai.
- Add Cardamom powder and roasted dryfruits. Mix well.
- Yummy soft Pineapple kesaribath / sajjige is ready to savor. Enjoyy!!!
